Week 1!
Wow! This week feels like an eternity! What incredible experiences!
Opening Night was a blast! The first thing that I heard when I entered onstage was a little girl screaming "It's Daphne!!!!!" I almost cried while dancing. The kids are so invested and attached to these characters and leave so happy. It's seriously a dream come true.
The last two venues we've played at were huge arenas! The Joel Coliseum Theatre in Winston-Salem, NC and the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, OH. Roughly 2,400 people were at the last venue and 1,800 in NC. It is extremely different performing in an arena- it's like a rock concert!
Today we open in Raleigh, NC! We have one show tonight, 3 on Saturday, and 2 on Sunday. I'm glad we're here for a few days, the hotel is beautiful and it looks like the theatre is too!
The bus we are staying on is for Rock Stars! There is an amazing lounge in the front with couches, Direct TV, tables, etc. We all have individual bunks to sleep on, however, I did not realize how claustrophobic I was... I've been sleeping in the front lounge after everybody else retires to bed. I like all the windows and big... open... spaces... =]
I am having an amazing time with the cast and crew! Everyone is super friendly and we all get along great! It feels like I have known them for years, not a few weeks!
I have also done some press! Check out the radio interview that aired this morning on 93.9 Kiss FM in North Carolina!
